MARCH | Babe Of The Month - Demiree Potter
Excited to share that our "Babe Of The Month" for March is none other than the queen of fashion - Demiree Potter!!!
Demiree owns Ruboo Boutique in downtown Port Huron, and also plans & organizes events for the community! All while being a full time wife and mom! I had the privilege of getting to pick her brain for some insight on why she started Ruboo, and advice for other people looking to start a business of their own!
What made you want to start Ruboo?
"I've always had a love for fashion and wanted to run my own business! Plus I just loved the energy and fun opportunities that the boutique community gives!"
What's the most rewarding thing to you about your business?
"When girls come in and tell me how many compliments they received in an outfit that I was able to pick out for them! I love knowing that I'm getting to help women feel more confident and try new outfits that they wouldn't necessarily pick out for themselves."
What's one thing you've learned about yourself since being a business owner?
"I've learned that you need to constantly be adapting + staying up to date on new trends and styles! Since opening Ruboo I've also learned that I love to give back to our community & contribute to the growth of the Blue Water Area as a whole! It's so awesome to watch our town and other business owners like myself succeed!"
What's one thing you wish other people knew about small businesses?
"That supporting a small business in ANY way is so important because you're not just supporting the owner and their family, but you're helping to grow the community and keep the area thriving!"
What advice would you give to someone trying to start their own business?
"Don't base your success off of negative opinions! Stay true to yourself and look for other entrepreneur friends to support you and give you advice. Believe in your dream and only do something that you're 100% passionate about!"
What does Ruboo look like in 5 years?
"Expansion with more lines including activewear and hopefully another location!"
